Advice For Newbies Who Want To Build Their Own Online Business

As you are reading these very words, right this moment, I am in my back room with the curtains closed.  I am gazing into my crystal ball which is about to reveal the secret ambitions and ideas about online business that have been bouncing around inside your brain.

It is freaking magical…..

It is revealing some things about you that I probably could have guessed without my crystal ball…..

It is also revealing some hidden secrets about your personal life that I wish I had never known…Yikes…

Let me see…..

You have this idea in your head that you want to build a really successful website that earns lots of money.   You don’t really care what the business model is.  It could be a micro-niche site.  It could be an authority site.  It could be an affiliate site that helps sell products from Amazon.com.

It could be a Made For Adsense (MFA) site.  It could be an affiliate site that sells Clickbank products.  It could be a site that sells your own product or service.

You really don’t care.  Am I right?   All you really care about is whether or not it is something you can do and whether or not it is going to earn a decent amount of money.

That is all you really care about because you are primarily interested in making money and you just want someone to show you the easiest path to doing so.

You want the ABSOLUTE FASTEST, MOST EFFICIENT, EASIEST TO IMPLEMENT METHOD of generating serious cash….

Okay, I will stop now.  That was meant to be a joke.   You are going to see a lot of dry, really bad humor on my website like that.  When I do stuff like that, it makes everyone in my immediate family think I am crazy….and yes……..yes……I am….

The point I was trying to make is that you and every other aspiring online business person has the same basic motivation when they decide to try to launch their own online business or money making website.   We all chose this path because we want to make money.  And we want to get paid as much as possible or even get rich if that is possible.  Wouldn’t that be cool?

Making money online or building a successful online business is nowhere near as easy as you are imagining it is going to be.   Your mental perceptions about how much money you are going to make online and how easily it is made is as misguided as your 5 year old nephew’s imagination about Santa Clause.  It isn’t anywhere close to the truth.

Most people are destined to fail.  There is a very good reason for that.

 

My advice to you – Put Yourself In A Situation Where You Can Learn How To Build Your Online Business Over A Longer Period of Time

You have begun your quest to learn about building an online business and you are bringing certain skills to the table with you.  Maybe you have some kind of specialized skills or specialized knowledge that is going to drastically accelerate the rate at which you learn and become successful.

But, I promise you that there is more to learn than you have ever imagined there might be.  It is going to take you a while to learn it all.  Once you realize this, you will be forced to either put yourself into a life situation where you can persist until you learn it……..or else you will just quit.

I don’t want you to quit.  I don’t want you to quit after your first failure.  Because, I know that you will fail.  We all do.  We all fail with various projects because of various unforeseen factors.  We learn from those experiences and forge forward.   That is my advice to you.

I had visions of grandeur when I launched my first website that was supposed to make money.  I figured that within six months or so, that site would be earning me a couple thousand dollars on autopilot.  I was so naive it was ridiculous.  That site maybe earned $30 per month, maybe.  And even though I thought the site was great, in reality, it sucked.  Looking back at it, it really sucked.  It shouldn’t have even earned that much.

I then proceeded to go on failing again and again and again.  No I don’t think of myself as a slow learner.  I was an “A” student throughout high school and college whenever I applied myself.

Fortunately I was in a position in life where I was doing this online business thing on a part time basis.  All the people I had met who were doing this full time ended up quitting and going back to their real jobs.  They were in a situation where they had to learn how to do this in order to pay their bills.  That was a really bad scenario.  Before long they came to realize that there is simply too much to learn in order to cram this learning into a few months even if you are working at it 20 hours a day.

You are going to experience failure at some point.  You will experience it more than once.

Learn how to accept failure as a part of learning.   One of the most useful skills you can develop is the ability to accept your failures, learn from them and correct them going forward.  Really, in any aspect of life, that is all anyone can do.

Dust yourself off….

Get back on that horse and ride brother…..ride……whip that Pony……..hyah….hyah….
